What is NRG?

Welcome to NRG – Next Robe Generation!

Whether you are a young professional at the start of your career, an academic tutor, apprenticeship leader, or an industry professional.... please get involved!

NRG has established itself as a highly valuable initiative and is a networking community for students, apprentices, and recent graduates of lighting design, programming and technical lighting. It is a community of like-minded young professionals and is a resource open to anyone serious about pursuing a career in the world of performance lighting and visuals.

NRG provides professional networking opportunities for the next generation of designers, technicians and operators to interact informally with influential industry professionals, who are happy to offer advice and share their enthusiasm and passion for lighting.

Despite being unable to meet in-person throughout the pandemic, the NRG community has thrived, with many more young lighting professionals joining the group. The way the group interacts has adapted throughout the past eighteen months and the events which were once held in person, have changed and developed into a number of different activities online.

However, the essence of NRG remains the same whether it is in-person, or online events. And that is that NRG places these young professionals at the centre of each event or activity, enabling them to leave each networking social or technical tour, or each Zoom call having had meaningful conversations with the industry experts they have met whilst gaining invaluable advice and insight to further their careers and fine-tune their skillset. Equally importantly, they leave these events with a genuine feeling of being part of a recognised networking community.

Along with an increased membership, there continues to be a growing recognition from the industry that the NRG community and membership is a force for good.

As the industry begins to open up again, we are excited to see where the next year takes us and we watch with great pride as those who have engaged with NRG make an impact in the industry.
The NRG programme is financially supported by Robe UK, and the team are delighted to be associated with these young technicians and welcome them as part of the "Robe family".
